October 22: White House officials said on October 21 that Trump plans to highlight the U.S. government's actions against overseas crypto fraud organizations during the White House cybercrime event that day, including the recovery of funds and the shutdown of fraud operations. These transnational criminal organizations steal funds from American citizens through romance scams, phishing, ransomware, and other means.

The U.S. government said that law enforcement agencies have intercepted approximately $833 million in crypto assets related to overseas fraud and, under the supervision of a Department of Homeland Security task force, seized 503 fraudulent crypto websites. Relevant departments have also notified nearly 9,000 American citizens, warning them that they are being scammed.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury previously announced the establishment of an interagency "Scam Center Strike Force" targeting "pig butchering" scams carried out by organized criminal groups in Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, and the Philippines. Since last year, the United States has also imposed multiple sanctions aimed at cutting off support for related scam websites and infrastructure.
