Beating AI News Flash: Replit founder Amjad Masad predicts that by the end of 2030, all Fortune 500 companies will become "autonomous driving companies." In this model, humans set goals and make key decisions, while AI Agents handle specific execution and coordination work. Replit has launched Replit for Business, attempting to promote this model to more enterprises.

Replit itself has already begun putting this into practice. In the first half of 2026, the company's engineers' code output nearly tripled compared to before, while code review time, rollback counts, and production incident numbers remained essentially flat. Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing of Japan also disclosed that a development process that originally required 6 people and 6 months is now completed by 1 person in one week.

As Agents begin to execute actual business operations, enterprises' permission management is also facing new problems. Currently, many Agents run on employees' personal accounts, in chat windows, or in temporary scripts, and may directly hold internal system credentials while lacking unified permission control and operation records. Replit's proposed Agent Habitat is intended to centrally manage these Agents, limit data access scope, set manual approval for sensitive operations, and retain execution records.

a16z co-founder Marc Andreessen subsequently published a long post supporting this direction. He compared the spread of Agents to the process by which personal computers and spreadsheets entered enterprises: employees adopted them on their own first, then data management, auditing, and security issues emerged, and enterprises gradually established unified rules. He believes that enterprises should not simply prohibit employees from using Agents, but should build management systems that can accommodate this way of working.
