Uniswap Labs opens fee conversion tool TJAR to apps, Robinhood becomes first partner.
October 29: Uniswap Labs announced that it is open-sourcing TJAR, the Token Jar tool originally used for service agreement fees, to other applications, with Robinhood becoming the first integration partner. Applications can deposit various fee tokens collected across chains into the Token Jar, where searchers compete to exchange them, and the application automatically receives payment in its chosen token. Token Jar processed over $15.3 million in swap volume in September. Uniswap itself pays in UNI and sends the tokens to a burn address, while other applications can choose their preferred receiving token and collection address.
Robinhood has already used TJAR for fees collected via the Uniswap API on its supported chains, swapping the fees into USDC and USDG. TJAR is currently live on seven chains, and developers can access the code, deployment addresses, and audit reports. The Uniswap DAO can set an optional protocol fee for TJAR, which has not yet been charged. The two parties have collaborated before: the Uniswap trading protocol has been deployed on Robinhood Chain, and its web app, wallet, and API also support Robinhood stock tokens.
