AI inference platform Baseten is seeking to raise $2 billion at a valuation of up to $30 billion.
October 31, according to Bloomberg, AI startup Baseten is seeking a new round of financing, planning to raise approximately $2 billion, with its valuation expected to jump from $13 billion in June this year to as high as $30 billion, more than doubling.
The financing round is expected to be divided into two phases, with a valuation of $26 billion in the first phase and $30 billion in the second phase. Existing investor Sands Capital is expected to lead the round. Baseten last completed a $1.5 billion financing in June this year at a valuation of $13 billion.
Founded in 2019, Baseten mainly provides enterprises with an AI model inference platform to help customers deploy and run various AI models. With the spread of AI applications, market demand for inference computing power continues to grow, and investors are increasing their investment in related infrastructure companies. Its competitor Fireworks AI completed a $1.5 billion financing in July this year at a valuation of $17.5 billion.
