ZachXBT: Suspected EU Agency Breach Losses Rise to $133 Million, Attacker Continues Cross-Chain Fund Transfers

Nov 3, 15:41

November 3 - ZachXBT posted that the European institution previously suspected of being hacked has been found to have over $27 million in abnormal withdrawals from centralized exchange platforms (CEX), bringing the total amount of funds involved in the incident to over $133 million. Some of the exchange withdrawals occurred after the incident was first disclosed.

The investigator proposed a speculation yet to be confirmed: the incident may involve an attack on a large financial institution located in Western Europe, and the relevant situation may currently be being covered up. He also stated that due to the lack of proper incident disclosure, over $30 million has been transferred and laundered, whereas EU law enforcement agencies might otherwise have had the opportunity to freeze these funds.
