ByteDance's Seedance overseas revenue has already accounted for half, growing nearly fivefold in half a year.
Beating AI News Flash, Intelligent Emergence has learned exclusively that ByteDance's video generation model Seedance's overseas revenue share has reached 50%, with overseas revenue growing nearly fivefold over the past six months.
In February of this year, Seedance 2.0 received a cease-and-desist letter from the Motion Picture Association (MPA) due to generated content involving copyrighted Hollywood characters. On August 17, the two parties signed a global intellectual property protection memorandum, and the MPA subsequently publicly acknowledged the progress of Seedance's new model in copyright protection. Disney also reached a content partnership with TikTok, allowing eligible creators to use designated film and television materials to produce short videos.
Seedance has also secured numerous leading internet clients in China. Based on token consumption and revenue contribution, Tencent has become one of Seedance's top three clients in China, while Bilibili has entered the top ten. Tencent, despite having its own Hunyuan video model, remains a major client of ByteDance's video model.
Seedance is also expanding into the physical industry, with clients in manufacturing, automotive, education, healthcare and other sectors now accounting for more than a quarter of its total client base. As Seedance 2.5 strengthens multimodal referencing and editing consistency, ByteDance hopes to further apply video generation capabilities to scenarios such as embodied intelligence, manufacturing simulation and industrial training.
