Institution: The Federal Reserve should pay more attention to core inflation and halt its "irrational interest rate hike policy."

Nov 3, 15:58

November 3 - Jay Hatfield, CEO and portfolio manager of Infrastructure Capital Advisors, stated that the Federal Reserve should halt its "irrational interest rate hike policy," and monetary policy should focus on core inflation rather than oil-driven inflation.

Hatfield remarked that the Fed should recognize that its policies primarily impact interest rate-sensitive sectors of the economy, which are predominantly in the housing market. He urged the Fed to undertake fundamental reforms to its forecasting models, the arbitrary 2% inflation target, and its use of "severely flawed inflation indicators."

Additionally, he mentioned that Infrastructure Capital Advisors is closely monitoring the research outcomes of the Fed's related working groups, expecting these results to address some of these fundamental flaws. (Jinshi)
