CZ: Expect the frequency of hacker attacks to further increase, and more use of AI technology must be made to strengthen defenses.
November 3 - Binance founder CZ said in an interview, "The theft incident seems like it will never happen until it actually does, right? But often just before things happen, you overlook some details. Therefore, with sufficient effort and attention, every security incident is actually preventable. I think we can learn a lot from this.
Without enough technological application and market adoption, the tech field might not get sufficient investment. Thus, market demand also needs to grow in sync, and the two must mutually reinforce each other. We can't wait until technology reaches 100% maturity before taking action, because technology can never reach absolute maturity; it is always in a process of continuous improvement. AI technology is developing very fast, but it also brings many problems, such as security issues. In the past, we might see a hacking incident once a month or at intervals, but now it could happen once a week. And just yesterday, four crypto trading platforms suffered different hacking attacks.
I expect that the frequency and speed of hacking attacks will further increase in the future, because attackers are also making more use of AI. At the same time, we must also make more use of AI technology to strengthen defenses. To counter a powerful adversary, sometimes you must possess comparable capabilities. Therefore, we actually need AI technical capabilities to address these threats. So, there is no so-called perfect timing for us to wait until technology is fully mature and all security issues are resolved before taking action. Technology and security protection capabilities are always evolving."
