US midterm elections live: In-person voting underway in all states except Hawaii
November 4th, past 11 AM Eastern Time, all U.S. states except Hawaii have begun in-person voting. Hawaii is expected to open polling stations in less than an hour.
In New York's key swing district Westchester County, some voting machines have malfunctioned, while flooding in Florida has forced multiple polling locations to temporarily relocate.
The latest developments are as follows:
1. The Westchester County Board of Elections in New York stated that local voting machines are currently unable to read paper ballots. Voters can also opt to fill out ballots by hand. Republican Congressman Mike Lawler told CNN that he expects the issues to be resolved soon.
2. In central Florida, 21 polling locations have been forced to relocate due to severe flooding. The Secretary of State's office has confirmed this information.
3. The U.S. Department of Justice has dispatched federal election monitors to multiple swing states and other areas with the largest populations and high Democratic support in cities and counties.
4. Former President Obama has released a new automated phone call recording to campaign for Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, as part of the final get-out-the-vote efforts before the election.
