Aptos Advisor Buzz Departs After One-Year Contract Expires and Has Sold His APT Tokens
October 29: According to Decrypt, Aptos former advisor Buzz, who uses the pseudonym BuzzlamicJihad, left Aptos after his one-year contract expired, calling it a "mutual decision," and has sold his APT tokens. Buzz said he believes the project made no further progress and some plans did not materialize as expected, so he did not renew. APT has fallen 10.7% this month, with a market cap of about $607 million.
Buzz is now using the same meme-marketing approach to build hype for Facebook parent Meta. He said his thesis on Aptos was always based on the project's ties to Facebook, since Aptos was founded by developers from the Libra project. Buzz believes Meta's fundamentals are strong but retail investors are being overlooked, especially with the recent creation of non-voting Class C shares. He has begun posting messages such as "META looking good here," and said he has moved his communications from Telegram to Meta's WhatsApp. Meta fell 1.2% that day, with a market cap of about $1.59 trillion, roughly 2,619 times Aptos's market cap.
