Walmart, Eli Lilly Among 5 More Companies Opposing OKX–ICE Tokenized Stock Plan; Opposition Now at 38

Oct 29, 22:13

October 29 — According to CoinDesk, Walmart, Eli Lilly, Carnival, Arcos Dorados and Cigna have explicitly come out against the OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) tokenized stock trading plan. Of the originally proposed 62 companies, 38 have now publicly expressed opposition.

Under a five-year exemption granted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the companies concerned have 30 days to object to stock tokenization initiated by third parties (i.e., non-affiliated parties); silence during that period is taken as permission for such trading, and there is no mechanism to withdraw the permission afterward.
