Analysis: About $2.8B of Binance's Stolen Assets Frozen, Roughly $2.9B Still in Attacker Addresses
October 31: According to BlockSec's analysis, of the roughly $6.3 billion in assets stolen from Binance, about $2.798 billion has been confirmed frozen, mainly stablecoins such as USDT and USDC, as well as wBETH, RLUSD, USD1, FDUSD, USDT0 and gold tokens including XAUt and PAXG; another roughly $38.47 million was handled through rescue actions by project teams or chains, including the burning of about 984 million BEAM, the removal of SNX and SAND via privileged operations, and the Arbitrum Security Council moving about 8,430 ETH and 74.56 million ARB into a temporary freeze address.
Meanwhile, large amounts of funds remain in the attacker's addresses. The four verified asset types alone — BTC, ETH, XRP and SOL — total about $2.924 billion, including about 18,300 BTC (roughly $1.426 billion), about 500,000 ETH (roughly $1.116 billion), about 233 million XRP (roughly $288 million) and about 970,000 SOL (roughly $94.42 million). BlockSec said the outflow of the stolen funds involves at least 10 chains.
