Ethereum Foundation: Trust in hardware has "entered free fall," welcomes developers of open, verifiable chips

Nov. 3 — The Ethereum Foundation said in a post that people's trust in hardware has recently "entered free fall." The Foundation shares the view expressed by Vitalik Buterin at Devcon 8 in Mumbai, India, that this situation is unacceptable. The Foundation said users should not need to hack a TV or pry open a hardware wallet to confirm a device is trustworthy, and that accessible, open and verifiable chips are necessary; Ethereum welcomes teams developing such chips.
