Trump Congratulates Democrats on Victory, Says Iran War Will End "When I Say It Ends"
Nov 4 — According to Gelonghui citing a report by U.S. broadcaster CBS, U.S. President Trump congratulated Democrats on their victory in the midterm elections. Trump said, "Congratulations to the Democrats. I look forward to working with you and working hard for the interests of our country." Trump also said, "I know a lot of Democrats, and I have the absolute veto. I believe we can find a way to solve the problems. I think they will be willing to work with me; otherwise I will veto everything, and they won't want that to happen." Explaining the reasons for the Republican candidates' defeat, Trump added, "In some cases, voters didn't like those candidates; in other cases, those candidates weren't my friends, and the Republican grassroots voters know that better than anyone. So they didn't actively participate in voting. If I had been on the ballot, we would have won easily — that's a shame. But I didn't run." Asked whether he was frustrated about it, Trump said he had "done his best" and that he had "given it his all." In addition, Trump also touched on the Iran war, saying the war will end "when I say it ends."
