India Becomes ChatGPT's Largest Global Market as Users Double This Year

November 4: According to The Economic Times, Prabhjeet Singh, Managing Director of OpenAI India, said that measured by weekly active users, India has become ChatGPT's largest market globally, with local user numbers doubling since January this year. Singh said OpenAI expects to make announcements related to UPI (Unified Payments Interface) and payments within the coming weeks; enterprise customers are moving from pilot and demo stages to scaled production deployments. In response to concerns about potential misuse of autonomous AI agents, Singh said OpenAI is working with government agencies and enterprises to protect critical infrastructure. Singh joined OpenAI in August this year, and this is his first media interview since joining.
