November 4 — According to reporter Eleanor Terrett, AI-related political action committees (PACs) spent a total of about $72 million in the US midterm elections, while the crypto industry's three major PACs spent about $170 million, roughly $100 million more than the AI PACs. Some of the AI PACs' bets failed: the South Carolina candidate Darline Graham, the Michigan candidate Mike Rogers and the Texas candidate @CarlosForTexas, all of whom they backed, were defeated.
Separately, according to Terrett's earlier report, the crypto industry spent more than $64 million but still failed to prevent Sherrod Brown from entering the Senate.
