Riot Platforms Terminates Custody Agreement with NYDIG, Bitcoin Moved to BitGo Custody

Nov 4, 20:43

Nov. 4 — According to SEC filings, bitcoin miner Riot Platforms (RIOT) said in an 8-K filing that its digital asset custody agreement with NYDIG Trust Company, signed in November 2023, automatically terminated on Oct. 29. The termination resulted from all digital assets previously custodied by NYDIG having been transferred to BitGo Bank & Trust. The assets are now custodied by BitGo under the custody services agreement disclosed on Oct. 14, and Riot did not pay an early termination penalty as a result. Under the original agreement, NYDIG custodied Riot's bitcoin in cold wallets and charged an annual fee based on the average daily U.S. dollar value of the custodied assets. Riot also released its third-quarter 2026 financial results on Nov. 4.
