November 4 — According to Cointelegraph, France's National Assembly on Tuesday passed Amendment No. I-2701 by 150 votes in favor, 44 against and 8 abstentions, requiring taxpayers to declare to the tax authorities self-custodied crypto assets with a combined value of at least €100,000, based on their value as of December 31 of the tax year. The provision is part of the 2027 finance bill and must be retained in the final bill to take effect; the National Assembly must complete the first reading of the bill by November 17, and the Senate plans to begin its review on November 20. In addition, the National Assembly rejected an amendment that would have exempted from tax gains on crypto payments totaling no more than €1,000 over the year. Faustine Fleuret, global head of public affairs at Morpho, said that if the revenue portion of the budget is ultimately rejected, the entire bill, together with the amendments already passed, could be rejected in the National Assembly.
