Multiple Amazon teams face a new round of layoffs

On October 8, Amazon (AMZN.O) employees reported on Tuesday that the company has conducted another round of layoffs across multiple departments. The report stated that the cuts involve several business units, including customer service, market support, and engineering roles within Amazon's retail operations, as well as divisions in India and the UK. According to a source familiar with the situation, fewer than 1,000 employees are affected in total. An Amazon spokesperson confirmed to Business Insider that the company cut a "small number" of positions on Tuesday, primarily concentrated in its store business unit. (Jin10)
