Oct 13, 13:56

On October 13, according to Kmaeil, KB Kookmin Card of South Korea and Japanese financial group SBI Holdings, among other institutions, signed a business cooperation agreement (MOU) to jointly advance the verification of AI agent authentication technology and explore a stablecoin-based cross-border payment model between South Korea and Japan.

Under the agreement, the parties will test the AI agent identity verification platform “KYA Trust Gateway” and work to connect it with payment services such as KB Pay. Subsequent plans include further exploring how to integrate digital assets, such as stablecoins held by Japanese tourists, into the domestic merchant payment ecosystem in South Korea, covering settlement and anti-fraud processes. Currently, the commercialization of this stablecoin payment service has not yet been finalized, and its advancement will be evaluated based on the results of technical validation.
