AMC CEO Once Again Publicly Questions Whether Robinhood International Complies With SEC Stock Tokenization Rules

Oct 13, 18:01

On October 13, AMC CEO Adam Aron publicly addressed Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev and Dan Gallagher, questioning whether Robinhood's offshore operations in Jersey would comply with the same principles or attempt to circumvent the compliance standards advocated by the SEC in a "disreputable manner," despite its claim to "support" new SEC regulations on stock tokenization.

Earlier reports indicated that Aron questioned Robinhood's arrangements for issuing relevant products through Jersey-based entities, along with the tokenized stocks' purported 1:1 underlying stock backing mechanism. He further asked whether such tokens could still be considered backed on a 1:1 basis if the actual underlying stocks used to support them were lent out to short sellers.
