On Tuesday, October 20, that South Korean stocks fell more than 3%, closing at their lowest level in over six months. Weighed down by concerns surrounding the global artificial intelligence (AI) investment boom, chip stocks weakened broadly. The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI), after two consecutive days of rebounds, dropped 215.27 points, or 3.73%, on Tuesday to close at 5,552.74, marking its lowest closing level since April 7. "The sustainability of the recent rebound is limited, as concerns regarding credit and profitability around AI investments have not been fully eliminated," said analyst Lee Kyoung-min at Daishin Securities.
