JPMorgan: CoreWeave debt sale poses limited risk to global banks

Oct 20, 15:41

On Tuesday, October 20, JPMorgan estimated that most global banks have limited exposure to Coreweave (CRWV.O). Previously, the Nvidia-backed cloud computing company saw its stock and bonds plummet last week amid investor concerns over its debt financing. JPMorgan noted that while potential exposure from major US investment banks and Japan's Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group to CoreWeave could range between $1 billion and $3 billion, exposure from most European and Asian participants remains under $500 million. Most of this is structured as delayed-draw term loans, primarily held through special purpose entities, with capital released upon the achievement of project milestones. From the perspective of financing banks, JPMorgan believes the exposure to CoreWeave is well managed and highly collateralized. (Jinshi)
