CZ: Actual loss from the Binance hack may slightly exceed $1 billion, and it will be fully covered.
On October 30, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) quoted DefiLlama founder 0xngmi's estimate on X and responded that the actual loss "may be slightly higher than this, but it will be covered."
0xngmi previously stated that Binance's custodial assets amount to approximately $144 billion. After deducting the frozen USDT and USDC, the actual loss from this incident is around $1 billion, representing about 0.69% of its custodial assets, which can be covered by its balance sheet. Additionally, according to a post by World Liberty Financial co-founder Zach Witkoff, the stablecoin USD1 has proactively frozen approximately $27 million related to this incident, to which CZ subsequently replied to express gratitude.
previously reported that the suspected amount stolen from Binance exceeds $5.8 billion, with approximately 40% already frozen. The situation remains ongoing; please exercise caution.
