Nov 3, 15:35

On November 3, according to a South Korean government policy briefing, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung requested at a cabinet meeting to actively study the establishment of a government-level cybersecurity agency to coordinate dispersed security functions across the public and private sectors.

Lee Jae-myung stated that with the advancement of artificial intelligence, hacking techniques are becoming increasingly sophisticated and complex, exposing the limitations of the existing security system that primarily relies on inspections and post-incident response. He directed the establishment of a system for early detection, notification, and response to attack indicators, aiming to address security vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure such as public services, information and communications, energy, and finance.
