Nov 4, 08:31

On Nov. 4, the Associated Press announced on the evening of Nov. 3 local time that Democratic Senator Mark Warner defeated Republican challenger and retired Army Major General Bert Mizusawa to win the Virginia U.S. Senate race, securing his fourth six-year term. This marks the first Senate seat result announced by the AP in the 2026 U.S. midterm elections.

The "AP Voter Poll" released on the same day indicates that approximately 60% of voters disapprove of Trump's job performance, around three-quarters feel angry or dissatisfied with the direction of the United States, and roughly 70% hope Congress will strengthen checks on the president. Voters' top concerns are the economy (40%) and democracy (30%). Control of the Senate and House of Representatives remains undecided as vote counting continues.
