On November 4 that, according to documents from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Justin Sun and two co-plaintiffs have sought sanctions against World Liberty Financial and its attorneys, requesting approximately $264,000 in attorney fees and costs. The plaintiffs allege that World Liberty made false disclosures regarding its citizenship status during the litigation.

The plaintiffs note that World Liberty initially disclosed only Florida citizenship, and nearly three months later supplemented this by revealing that 22 members of its ownership chain hold citizenship in various jurisdictions, including the United Arab Emirates. World Liberty's counsel subsequently argued that the federal court lacked jurisdiction because foreign parties were present on both sides of the case.

The requested amount covers the attorneys' fees and costs incurred by the plaintiffs in opposing mandatory arbitration. In the filing, the plaintiffs stated they would be compelled to refile the lawsuit in California state court, and a hearing on the sanctions application is scheduled for December 10.
