Indian Cybersecurity Agency Warns AI-Assisted Attacks Impact Crypto Exchanges
Nov 5, 10:04
On November 5, an announcement from India's Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) revealed that the AI-assisted attack campaign known as CRAFTY FALCON is escalating. Targeted entities include cryptocurrency exchanges and virtual asset service providers, as attackers steal wallet keys and drain funds.
The agency noted that attackers gain access to systems through internet-exposed test environments, pivot to production environments via shared credentials and other means, and use AI security tools to generate and improve attack scripts. Some attacks are scheduled during weekends or holidays to delay detection and response. CERT-In has advised relevant organizations to strengthen round-the-clock monitoring.
