Keplr Co-founder: About 20% of Social Login Accounts Affected by Security Incident

Nov 8, 00:01

On November 8, according to Keplr co-founder Josh Lee, the security incident involving the wallet's Google and Apple logins stemmed from service provider Web3Auth. Preliminary estimates indicate that approximately 20% of accounts created using these two methods were affected, with only a fraction already exploited; the remaining accounts may still be recoverable.

Lee stated that the incident was not caused by a hack of the Keplr code, and the team is collaborating with Web3Auth and MetaMask to track affected accounts and recover assets. Keplr previously announced the suspension of Google and Apple logins, advising relevant users not to transfer new funds into their accounts and warning against reimporting or creating accounts elsewhere.
