July 27th - According to South Korean media, six top Silicon Valley venture capital firms, including Sequoia Capital, a16z, Khosla Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, General Catalyst, and NEA, have signed a strategic investment cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the National Pension Service of Korea (NPS). The two parties plan to collaborate on global investment opportunities exploration, investment information sharing, and international venture capital network building.

The South Korean government is currently accelerating efforts to attract foreign venture capital, coupled with the launch of the ₩200 trillion "National Growth Fund." The market expects strategic industries in Korea such as AI and semiconductors to receive multiple supports from policy funds, overseas VCs, and private capital.

However, some industry insiders have pointed out that a large amount of funds flowing into a few hot companies may drive up market valuations, increasing the risk of valuation pullback during future IPOs and mergers and acquisitions exits, thereby affecting the performance of investment funds.
