Institution: Fed Faces Increasing Rate Hike Pressure

Jul 28, 13:44

July 28th - Tianli Investment's Senior Economist Anthony Willis stated in a report that due to the US inflation level remaining significantly above target and the economy and labor market still showing resilience, the pressure on Federal Reserve policymakers to tighten policy has increased.

Willis said, "However, policymakers may be willing to temporarily overlook the recent surge in oil prices until the impact of inflation becomes more apparent." Nevertheless, the broader trend is clear: under Powell's leadership, the Fed is taking a more hawkish stance. The market currently expects a 38% probability of a Fed rate hike on Wednesday and has already fully priced in the possibility of a rate hike in September. (FX Street)
