Trump Pauses Iran Strike to Seek Deal

August 2nd - U.S. President Trump stated that if a quick agreement could be reached to restrict Tehran's nuclear program and fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. would postpone its attack plan on Iran. Iran and other Middle Eastern countries need time to finalize the agreement. Trump also added that Israel supports pausing the negotiations, while the U.S. remains prepared to strike to act swiftly in case of negotiation failure.

Iran has denied seeking to halt military action and stated that its military remains on high alert. Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that any new attacks from the U.S. or Israel would trigger an "appropriate response." Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, has called for dialogue to de-escalate the situation.
