On the news front, Armor has officially announced its first GPU Direct Access to Flash-enabled solid-state drive, the KIOXIA GP1 in the GP series. This product has achieved the ultimate 100M IOPS random read performance.
Armor stated that the KIOXIA GP1 series is designed to support the introduction of high-speed flash media into the VRAM system of emerging AI storage architectures. This approach enables AI systems to access larger datasets at a much lower cost than adding HBM, while increasing GPU utilization.
