Aug 5, 10:35

August 5th, according to TradingBeats (formerly Hyperinsight) monitoring, the Nasdaq tracking contract XYZ100 on Hyperliquid is currently priced at $29,733, up approximately 3.2% from yesterday, with an open interest value of about $246 million.

As XYZ100 continues to rise, two high-leverage short positions have been liquidated three times in a row, with a total of 319.3 short positions force-liquidated, resulting in a trading volume of about $9.398 million and a total loss of approximately $221,000. Among them,

The whale with the address starting with 0x0d was first liquidated with 80 XYZ100 short positions, amounting to approximately $2.318 million; after the index continued to rise this morning, the remaining 81.2 short positions were liquidated again, amounting to about $2.423 million;

The whale with the address starting with 0x3bc was liquidated with 158.1 XYZ100 short positions, with a trading amount of about $4.657 million.

After nearly $9.4 million in short positions were force-liquidated by the system, both whales did not exit but reestablished high-leverage short positions:

The whale with the address starting with 0x0d re-shorted 59 XYZ100 positions with 25x leverage, with a position value of approximately $1.754 million, an entry price of $29,728.3, and a liquidation price of $30,421.6;

The whale with the address starting with 0x3bc re-shorted 84.4 XYZ100 positions with 30x leverage, with a position value of approximately $2.511 million, an entry price of $29,584.4, and a liquidation price of $31,003.

The total value of these two new short positions is around $4.265 million. At the current price, the liquidation price of the new position of the 0x0d whale is only about 2.3% higher.

Historical operations show that the 0x0d whale is a high-leverage, diversified bearish trader. Currently, all 10 of its US stock mapping positions are short; besides two Nasdaq short positions that have been liquidated in the past day, its short positions in Sandisk, S&P 500, and LITE have also been forcibly liquidated.

The 0x3bc whale leans towards macro thematic bets. In addition to the current approximately $2.511 million Nasdaq short position, it also holds about $12.548 million in S&P 500 short positions, is long on WTI and Brent crude oil for about $3.777 million, and continues to short tech targets such as Sandisk.
