The SSE STAR 50 Index Rose by 4.78%, with Strength in Storage Chips and Precious Metals Concepts

August 5th. After a lower opening, the three major A-share indexes collectively moved up. By the close, the Shanghai Composite rose by 1.47%, the Shenzhen Component Index rose by 1.86%, and the Growth Enterprise Index rose by 1.32%. The STAR 50 Index rose by 4.78%. The total turnover of the two markets in Shanghai and Shenzhen was 2.66 trillion, an increase of 446 billion from the previous trading day.

The storage chip sector was strong throughout the day, with TechFaith Communication Technology hitting the 20% limit up; the photolithography sector was active, with JCET Group Co., Ltd. hitting the daily limit up for the second consecutive day; the precious metals sector strengthened, with Sichuan Gold rising by the daily limit.
