MiniMax H3 Open Source Not Over Yet: 2K Video Module to be Completed Soon, Local Rendering to Receive Speed Boost
According to Perceiving Beating monitoring, the MiniMax H3 team revealed during a Reddit AMA that H3 still has several capabilities that will continue to be opened up. The 2K video module, which currently requires the use of the official API, has been confirmed for release, along with an acceleration solution to reduce computational load, making running H3 locally faster and more resource-efficient.
Currently, H3 locally can only generate 768p videos in full. The upcoming 2K module will take existing videos and original source material back through the model to generate high-resolution videos, further restoring text, characters, and visual details. There are prospects for running a complete 2K workflow locally in the future.
The team also acknowledged two existing issues. When H3 generates simultaneously referencing images, videos, and audio, the image does tend to blur more; and distant backgrounds and small characters are also prone to blurry faces and deformation. These issues are inherent to the model itself, and MiniMax is continuously working on optimization.
