SpaceX is set to complete its acquisition of Cursor as early as next week, potentially causing the Cursor brand to fade away.
According to Dynamic Beating monitoring, Cursor revealed during an internal all-hands meeting that SpaceX's $60 billion acquisition of the company could be completed as early as next week, with a deadline no later than the end of this month.
After the acquisition, Cursor will not continue to exist as an independent team but will be merged into SpaceXAI. The Cursor brand may also gradually phase out, and future products may use the Grok name or other branding. The upcoming universal agent "Sand" may be renamed to "Grok Bot." The existing Cursor programming assistant will not be renamed for the time being.
