Trump Tweet Previewed, Truth Social Eyes Sale of High-Speed Data Access to Financial Services Firm

Aug 11, 11:23

August 11th, according to official announcements and reports from The New York Times, it was reported that Trump's Truth Social is selling high-speed data access to key account posts on the platform to financial service institutions through the newly launched Truth API. The API went live on August 1st, and the company stated that it has signed over ten client agreements and has started to generate revenue.

The specific lead time of this API over regular users has not been publicly disclosed yet. TMTG only stated that it will deliver posts in milliseconds, while Reuters mentioned that the speed will be significantly faster than regular push notifications. For high-frequency and algorithmic trading firms, even a time difference of a few seconds could provide a trading advantage.

Individuals from Truth Social stated that the price of the Truth API is around $60,000 to $100,000 per month. Calculations based on over ten clients suggest that the annualized revenue of this business could reach around $8 million to $13 million. In comparison, Trump Media had a total revenue of only $1.7 million in the second quarter, indicating that if this data interface is stably renewed, it will become a significant new source of revenue for the company.

The selling point of this business is speed. For trading institutions, the content posted by Trump on Truth Social could affect individual stocks, industries, and even policy expectations. Getting relevant posts faster could translate into a trading advantage.

However, Truth Social itself is facing pressure on its traffic. According to data from Similarweb cited by the Financial Times, its mobile daily active users dropped from around 436,000 in July 2025 to about 261,000 in July 2026. The decline in traffic will weaken the space for advertising growth, but the API revenue relies on a few high-paying institutions, making the business logic more akin to financial data licensing.

Currently, Trump Media has not separately disclosed the actual revenue from the Truth API. The market will now focus on whether this business can continue to expand its client base and generate a verifiable revenue contribution in future financial reports.
