Crypto.com Launches Stock and ETF Tokenized Derivatives, Expanding Presence in Traditional Financial Markets
August 12th, according to CoinDesk, Crypto.com announced the launch of tokenized derivatives tracking around 1,500 U.S. stocks and ETFs for eligible users in the European Economic Area and other approved markets. The offering covers individual stocks such as Apple, Nvidia, Tesla, as well as gold and silver-related ETFs. This product can be traded with a minimum of $1 and supports 24/7 trading.
The above-mentioned products are essentially derivatives pegged to the underlying asset's price performance. Users receive price exposure rather than actual ownership of the underlying securities, therefore, they do not have shareholder voting rights. However, they may receive adjustments corresponding to dividends based on the arrangement. This move reflects that cryptocurrency exchanges are accelerating their expansion into traditional asset classes such as stocks, and the tokenized securities market is continuously growing.
