Iran: Will Engage in a War of Attrition Against the United States
In an interview aired on August 11 on the US Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), Mohammad Reza Naghdi, Advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, stated that the two main goals of the US in the Iran war—overthrowing the Iranian leadership and dividing Iran—have "already failed," and "victory is on Iran's side." Naghdi noted that the US has shown confusion and bewilderment in this war, stating that "the US announces a new target every other day, turning it into a war with 'no strategy'."
Naghdi also emphasized that Iran will continue to achieve victory. In the more than five months of combat with the US, Iran has not only gained experience but has also seen that the US military is weaker than imagined. Iran must deter the enemy, making them never dare to attack Iran again. One way to achieve this is to "prolong the war," drain the US, so that in the future, if anyone wants to attack Iran, they "will first weigh the cost." (CCTV International News)
