Hermes Agent Follows Up on Grok Bot: Turning a Multi-Agent System into an AI Team for Everyone

Aug 14, 12:49

According to Botwiser Beating monitoring, Nous Research has started the public beta of the Hermes Agent's Bot Mode. Currently provided as a standalone plugin, the plan is to integrate it into Hermes Desktop after collecting feedback.

Hermes originally supported multiple standalone profiles and allowed different agents to collaborate through Kanban. This time, the Bot Mode did not redo the underlying infrastructure but mainly reshaped these capabilities into a more intuitive product interface. The official statement directly indicates that a Bot is essentially a Hermes Profile.

Now, each Profile is displayed as a Bot with a name, avatar, and role. They each retain their models, skills, memories, and chat records. Users can directly assign tasks to another Bot using @ mentions, and Bots have dedicated inboxes to send messages to each other. Each Bot can also set up individual scheduled tasks.

This product setup is clearly in response to the recently launched Grok Bot. When asked by the community if this filled the functionality gap compared to the Grok Bot, Hermes co-founder Teknium replied, "Yep."
