SecondFi to Cease Operations, Launch Wallet Migration Tool, Affected Asset Recovery Process Expected to be Live by September 10

Aug 14, 13:41

August 14th, SecondFi, a Cardano ecosystem wallet project, announced the launch of a wallet migration tool and revealed the asset recovery plan for those impacted by the June 2026 incident.

SecondFi stated that due to the project's discontinuation, users need to migrate any remaining assets held in the SecondFi wallet. The migration tool is expected to go live on August 13th, supporting users to transfer eligible ADA, Cardano native tokens, and NFTs to a new Cardano wallet created by a service provider of their choice.

This tool currently only supports Cardano network assets, and non-Cardano assets need to be transferred separately through their respective network and wallet processes. SecondFi mentioned that the migration tool has undergone an independent security assessment by the security firm Bitdefender, and users are advised to read the official usage instructions and security tips before proceeding.

Furthermore, regarding the assets affected in the June 2026 security incident, SecondFi plans to launch a recovery portal by September 10th. Users can verify wallet ownership through Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZK Proof) and submit claims for the affected assets.

SecondFi reminds users to only use links published through official channels, including @secondfiapp, @secondfi_jp, and the official support website, to guard against recent phishing websites and impersonation accounts.
