Video | SK hynix Chairman: AI Smart Agents Will Drive Demand Exponentially, Prolonging the Current Storage Cycle
SK Hynix Chairman Seok-Hee Lee stated in an interview with CNBC that AI is fundamentally changing the historical cyclical nature of the memory industry. In the past, memory demand was primarily driven by the human population and limited by the number of devices such as phones and computers, with each user typically requiring only one phone or one computer. However, in the AI era, each individual may potentially own up to 10 different AI agents, each of which will require more memory consumption, leading to an order-of-magnitude expansion in demand. He believes that the cyclical nature of the memory industry will not disappear, but this current upswing may last longer than before, with a structural shift already underway. At least in the short term, he sees strong continued demand from customers for memory products.
