US Stocks Open: Storage and Optical Communication Stocks Surge, AAOI Up Over 9%, SNDK Up Over 6%

August 14th, according to BIT (bit.com) market data, the US stock market opened with strength in the storage and optical communication sectors. Most of the optical communication concept stocks rose, with Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI) up 9.07%, Lumentum (LITE) up 4.57%, Corning (GLW) up 2.86%, and Coherent (COHR) up 1.60%.

The storage sector saw gains across the board, with SanDisk (SNDK) up 6.15%, Seagate Technology (STX) up 4.71%, Western Digital (WDC) up 4.57%, Micron Technology up 3.06%, and Intel up 2.30%.
