Injective: Unaffected by Attack, Partial Validators Jailed Temporarily Due to Accelerated Upgrade

September 1st, Injective's official blog post stated that yesterday community contributors coordinated an accelerated network upgrade. Due to the upgrade taking longer than expected for all validators and ecosystem infrastructure to complete, some validators were temporarily "jailed" for failing to upgrade within the designated window. This led to a temporary decrease in network staking amount, and some exchanges also temporarily suspended INJ deposits and withdrawals.

Injective emphasized that the blockchain network and INJ remained secure throughout. The underlying protocol and consensus mechanism were not compromised, and users' staked funds were not at risk or lost. The network continued to process transactions, and there was no blockchain halt.

The official statement also mentioned that this accelerated upgrade was initiated due to a few binary options market applications within the ecosystem being attacked. The events only affected these applications and did not exploit the Injective blockchain, protocol, native assets, or consensus mechanism. The attack vector has been contained and patched.

Injective stated that the team is further deploying enhanced security mechanisms, real-time monitoring systems, and additional protective measures to more promptly identify abnormal activities and reduce the risk of similar events occurring again.
