Analyst: High probability of Fed rate hike, US stocks and Bitcoin face pullback risk
September 16 - CryptoQuant analyst Axel Adler Jr. posted that CME's "FedWatch" data shows the probability of the Federal Reserve raising interest rates by 25 basis points at its September meeting is 92.7%, with the target rate range potentially rising to 3.75%-4.00%. Among the seven first rate hikes since 1988, the S&P 500 fell six weeks later in five instances, with an average decline of 2.83%. The market has largely priced in this rate hike expectation, and subsequent focus will shift to the policy path; if the Federal Reserve signals an increased frequency of rate hikes or maintaining high rates for longer, it may further pressure US stocks and Bitcoin.
