Kraken's parent company plans to offer Hyperliquid HIP-3 perpetual contracts to U.S. users.

September 16: Kraken parent company Payward announced plans to deploy an on-chain perpetual futures market for U.S. clients, initially adopting the Hyperliquid HIP-3 permissioned market framework. The plan is still pending regulatory approval, and the related perpetual futures will be listed under Bitnomial Exchange rules.

The related market will operate on the Hyperliquid public blockchain, with trades matched and recorded by an on-chain order book. Payward's CFTC-regulated Bitnomial will serve as the HIP-3 deployer, responsible for creating, holding, and managing the market, as well as completing contract clearing and settlement; CFTC-registered futures commission merchant NinjaTrader Clearing will be responsible for hosting client accounts.

U.S. clients must open futures accounts through Payward's registered broker, and only accounts that have completed NinjaTrader onboarding and are simultaneously on both the NinjaTrader and Bitnomial allowlists can trade. Payward stated that Hyperliquid is the first protocol through which it plans to deploy products for U.S. clients, and it will launch more products in the future through the same open infrastructure.
