Polymarket to file lawsuit over Dutch ban

October 5: Polymarket will file a lawsuit over the Netherlands' decision to ban the U.S. prediction market website from operating. The company told the Dutch financial newspaper Het Financieele Dagblad that the Dutch regulator Ksa had already ordered Polymarket to stop operating in the Netherlands in February this year.

Polymarket believes that the platform offers a financial product and should therefore be regulated by the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM), not Ksa. Ksa had previously determined that Polymarket was a website without the necessary license and ordered it to stop operating in the Netherlands.
