Genius Group restarts Bitcoin treasury purchases, buys 10 BTC at an average price of $85,364.
October 7 — U.S.-listed company Genius Group (GNS) announced the resumption of Bitcoin treasury purchases, acquiring 10 BTC for approximately $854,000 between October 2 and 5, at an average purchase price of $85,364. Previously, on August 31, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit lifted a preliminary injunction that had prevented the company from issuing shares, raising capital, and purchasing Bitcoin.
This purchase is the next step in the company's execution of a $1.2 billion dual-treasury capital plan. The plan, announced on August 27, aims to allocate $827 million in Bitcoin and $800 million in AI assets by fiscal year 2031, bringing total assets to $2 billion. The company plans to continue accumulating Bitcoin while increasing its holdings of AI stocks.
Genius Group intends to fund the dual-treasury purchases through operating cash flow, its previously announced perpetual preferred securities offering plan, and an ATM stock issuance mechanism, in order to increase net asset value per share. Currently, the company has no plans to purchase assets through debt financing or to pledge its Bitcoin and AI stock holdings. CEO Roger James Hamilton said that although this purchase is limited in scale, it marks the company's restart of its Bitcoin accumulation strategy.
