Codex Cloud Integrates with Tailscale: Cloud Agents Can Now Access Local Services
Beating AI News Flash: OpenAI adds Tailscale support to Codex Cloud, allowing the cloud-based coding Agent to access development services on users' local computers and corporate intranets.
Previously, although Codex could read GitHub code and modify projects in the cloud, it could not directly call resources such as APIs and test servers that were only open on private networks.
Now, users can connect Codex Cloud to their own private networks through Tailscale. For example, if you run a test service on your Mac, Codex can directly call it after modifying code to check results and troubleshoot issues. Enterprises can also let Codex access internal APIs, test environments, and private package repositories without exposing these services to the public internet.
